We are a community based organization located in kimuka village in kajiado west county. Touched by the poverty levels and many social ills arising from illiteracy, we came together and formed this organization namely cradle education advocacy centre with the aim of ensuring that we transform our community through education as our first priority. There is only one public primary school in kimuka and it is not easily accessible to all children because of the long distance most children have to track. This leads to the delay in enrolling children because parents wait till children are as old as 8 years so as to be able to walk the long distances. Older children then drop out of schools and the girls enter into early marriages where they are battered in silence and the cycle of poverty continues. Female genital mutilation is also a common practice which we seek to eradicate through educating the children and communities . Though raised in a slum I received good education from well wisher
