Über uns
CLaSH wurde 1989 ins Leben gerufen und ist eine durch das Gesundheitsministerium registrierte Hilfsorganisation für Kinder mit Höschädigungen. Die Abkürzung steht für "The Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia". Schwerpunkte unserer Arbeit sind die frühe Erkennung von Hörstörungen, Frühbetreuung von Eltern und Kindern und gezielte Früherziehung. CLaSH ist eine namibische Hilfsorganisation, die seit ihrer Gründung eng mit der Deutsch-Namibischen Gesellschaft (DNG) verbunden ist. Die DNG fungiert als Kontoinhaber und Träger für CLaSH in Deutschland und Europa.

We received a payout of €324.67
At the beginning of 2020, the CLaSH Unit moved into the new building that is supposed to host the CLaSH Early Intervention Centre in future. The Centre is now situated right next to the School for the Deaf in Windhoek. With the amount raised and paid out so far, we will continue to equip our new classroom with interior, books, toys, Montessori materials, etc. We managed to collect funding for the carpets from other sources in the meantime but adding to our various topic boxes is an ongoing and developing project. Each time a specific topic is on the agenda, the topic box is taken out and its content is being scrutinised by the teachers. They then add name cards, picture stories, story books, topic relevant toys and games.
Deaf children need to see in order to learn and internalise concepts. Hence concrete materials are essential. A realistic three-dimensional plastic animal rather than just a photo makes a big difference in Deaf Education.
