The South Western region of Andhra Pradesh is known as Kostha Consists of Three districts i.e Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur this region is characterized by degraded ecology and source water resources making the region vulnerable to frequent droughts and seasonable migration of labour, Rainfall in Kostha is the lowest in the entrie state during monsoon, ground water table too are extremely low. The Socio - economic status of women is very low. The cases of astrocities against the women are probably the highest in the state.
