Maono Foundation is a non profit organisation working to support and empower vulnerable communities in Zanzibar, Tanzania. It was established in 2015 to respond to the needs and challenges affecting vulnerable community members in Nungwi, Zanzibar. Our aim is to equip marginalized individuals with the skills and resources they need to reach their full potential and take their rightful place in the community. Our programs give practical care and support and focus on providing quality education, improving health standards and empowering youths and women through skill building and vocational training. We want to encourage communities to develop a higher interest in learning, gain confidence and equip them with relevant skills to be self-sufficient and lift themselves out of poverty.
