Joseph Rural Development Trust (JRDT) is a social organization working with impoverished families in the rural villages of Tamil Nadu (India), in particular in the district of Kanchipuram. JRDT was established in January 2005 by Mr. M.P. Arokiaraj, an economics graduate of the University of Madras, Tamil Nadu. JRDT's long-term objective involves working with rural communities to help raise their standard of living financially, hygienically, socially and educationally on a day to day basis, and to realize a sustainable and prosperous future. To this end, JRDT runs projects such as providing free dental and eye clinics, building sanitation facilities, running an orphanage, providing computer classes & English classes run by volunteers, First Aid training camps, and arranging support services for sick and disabled individuals.
