Mend the Gap (MtG) is an international NGO registered in the UK. It is registered in England and Wales as charity No. 1143419 on 17 August 2011 and as company limited by guarantee No. 06655366 on 24 July 2008. MtG undertakes practical educational, poverty reduction and environmental projects in Kenya. Our mission is to help individuals and their communities fight for a fairer and more dignified world by helping them mend the gap between cultures, religions, generations and people of different wealth for the benefit of current and future generations. We will achieve our mission by making practical links and creating bridges between these different groups, communities and individuals.
In Kenya, we implement practical educational, environmental and poverty alleviation projects to poor people. We build and renovate schools and community facilities. We undertake micro-enterprise, water provision and environmental conservation projects. We provide ICT training to access freely available knowledge and resources. We build basic and work skills for the young generation as well as with the older and elderly in local community learning centres, undertake social welfare activities to reduce isolation, and give practical help.
