Open Palm COmmunity WElfare SERvices (COWESER) is an indigenous NGO working in Rakai District Uganda. Their primary focus is on improving the health and livelihoods of people living in the surrounding areas. They currently have a variety of projects including a rainwater harvesting project, a project to improve the environmental health (which includes water source protection and sanitation promotion) in Rakai District, a research project in collaboration with Georgia State University studying grandparent-headed households and a project to promote hand-washing in four surrounding districts.
