F.O.ST.E.R now!

F.O.ST.E.R now! started as a facebook page (www.facebook.com/prostatevo) in 2010. The purpose of that page was and is to assist active volunteers & animal welfare organizations work promoting the idea of fostering a stray as an alternative methodology of stray pets management in Greece. The thought behind our venture was that the life in the streets or in pensions or shelters are not appropriate for the welfare of the stray animals worldwide according to recent research.

Our intention is that by means of undertaken actions, programmes and initiatives with valid stakeholders of the community of people in EU with a view to presenting, disseminating and implementing the practice of fostering a stray pet as a way of managing the stray pets instead of letting them roaming in the streets as well as remaining in cages. This will help their decent living and it will ensure that each stray pet has the right care and a warm home.
These actions and programmes will include information, education, raising of awareness and dissemination animal welfare education of the public, the authorities, the professional world and the community of people regarding Social animal Welfare Solidarity. Moreover, by European cooperation and especially in the field of education, occupation, vocational training and professional initiative with a view to establishing codes and rules leading to the adoption of best [practices regarding education, training and accreditation of professional skills in Animal Welfare.
Furthermore we promote the idea of fostering a stray pet by means of socio-economic solidarity principles.
