Katwe Youth Development Association (KAYDA) has been in existence since 1995 as a registered Community Based Non-Governmental Organization. KAYDA has built a home for the vulnerable children (street children, orphans and the disadvantaged/needy Youth and children). KAYDA operates in Kampala district and has extensive programs in other districts of Uganda. Its offices are located in one of the urban slum area of Kampala whose residents are as a whole ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed, and suffer recurrent ill-health.

KAYDA’s program includes street children rehabilitation through education, vocational skills development, counseling, sports and HIV/AIDS prevention education through music, dance and drama (MDD). Resettlement of street children follows successful rehabilitation.

KAYDA seeks to contribute towards the general welfare and social development of vulnerable children and youths and reduction of psychosocial adverse effects of the past traumatized lives and contribute towards the sustainable livelihood improvement of those infected and affected children and youths.
