Über uns

An education providing facility that caters for the under privileged and orphaned children. We provide full education facility and support including boarding and lodging facilities for children from Kindergarten to College.

The campus includes two orphanages, one for the toddlers and one for primary school children, a nursery and a primary school with its own boarding facility, secondary schools for the boys and girls with their own respective facilities, a college with its own boarding facility.

Each of the schools are registered independently by the Ministry of Education - Tanzania, while the college is accredited by the National Accreditation Agency (NACTE). and the Orphanage is registered with the Ministry of Social and Welfare Tanzania.

The project was initiated in 1995 and from 1999 onwards our graduates re finding that the world can indeed be a better place to live in.

We provide subsidised education to 1500 children annually in Tanzania with the aim that if we can educate children, they will be able to get read of poverty and also improve their ways of leaving thus brushing away with lifestyles which sustain poverty e.g. getting access to clean water, taking care of personal hygiene and the environment and develop an ethical lifestyle to cut down corruption in the society.

We provide the children with 4 meals a day, thus catering for their nutrition, Quality Education, Uniforms, Dorm facilities, Examination fees and ethical training to make them better individuals in the society and better leaders of tomorrow.

The children through their parents are encouraged to contribute towards the education thus creating a sense of ownership and respect for what they are doing, yet almost 40% default their payments annually creating a huge budget deficit. In addition we have 200 plus orphans who have lost both their parents thus making it difficult for them to contribute while another 200 come from families who are basic farmers and complete hand to mouth individuals.

Our children, mostly girls, who are the most deprived and under privileged in our third world society, have found a reason to dream and hope. Some of our graduates are not only providing themselves with bread and butter, but they are paying parents in our education system.

We have physically handicapped children, who the society would otherwise knock them down, now working as education facilitators in government sectors or electrical engineers in private firms, while more than 10 are pursuing medical courses. We have almost 350 graduates who have found employment in the Education Sector and the story of success are countless.

While we assist with projects such as wells, economic development, social welfare, we still believe that Education is the key to success and You are our key partner to let the children dream of a better future and get their societies out of the circle of poverty.

Together we have done it and together we will do it

Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.

Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes

Thanks for your support,
the betterplace.org-team
