The Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), a program organized by the Catholic Diocese of Koforidua, the first of its kind in the country, trains chaplains to provide low cost and easily ‘ accessible care to people infected with HIWAIDS.

Matthew 25 House, based in Akwatia, with a branch in Koforidua, all in the Eastern Region of Ghana with the highest concentration of AIDS.

In Ghana, hard hit by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, morbidity and mortality have risen and is expected to continue to rise, laying excessive steep on social support systems of almost every community. Health institutions and centers are inadequate and do not have sufficient staff or equipment to meet existing health needs let alone for the additional challenges resulting from alone or HIV/AIDS.
