The Global Alliance for Legal Aid is a non profit organization registered in the state of North Carolina in the USA. It supports access to legal aid in developing countries; providing legal aid directly to poor populations victims of human rights violations. GALA is a fairly new organization and it has two active cases at present; one in Uganda and one in Jamaica. The case in Uganda is subject to our active crowdfunding appeal. Thousands of poor Ugandans were defrauded of millions of dollars cumulatively with no redress provided to them. The Jamaica case involves an indigenous population (Rastafarians) who were pushed off their property by commercial developers. GALA seeks to provide access to justice to populations who would not otherwise be able to obtain legal services or redress.
