JAB (Junto al Barrio) is a Chile based foundation, caring and improving the quality of vulnerable neighborhoods. They promote local commonalities, inspire for self-help and active citizen participation, develop public/private collaboration to realize urban and social projects in order to improve communities quality of life.
Their strategic objectives are:
1. Promote and strengthen local organizations and community leaders
2. Encourage the involvement, effective participation and responsiveness of residents, in local initiatives on their neighborhood
3. Develop social processes to promote collaboration from public and private areas to strengthen communities' networks.
4. Conduct sustainable social and urban projects, addressing structural problems, prioritized by neighbors themselves
5. Influence policy makers to adress urban and social problems responding to local needs.
