More than 7 million Malagasy people live without medical assistance, especially in rural area. In case of sickness or emergency, most of the inhabitants have to walk around 5 km or more to receive treatment in the Health Care Centres.

Some people just help themselves based on empirical knowledge; others only go to the Health Care Centres when it is absolutely needed or even too late. First aid is not given and priorities are not set as needed. Consequently, often the patient dies on the way before reaching medical attention.

These health problems need desperately a minimum of knowledge in order to prevent unnecessary death in time.

AiNA soa has the aim to improve the health condition in the villages of Madagascar through health education.
The idea is to improve basic health knowledge in the rural villages. This will be done through training the health workers in selected districts of Madagascar and to help them to train the community workers and other volunteers who will spread the knowledge to the people in the villages. A medical manual which covers first aid, care for sick and prevention will be also provided for each beneficiary.
We are now running the training in 17 districts, spread in the region of Analamanga, Vakinakaratra and Itasy. That’s where we need help, for the expenses in transportations and accomodations.
We go for training almost every week and we need this amount of money.
