The Asociación Educativa YW Ollantaytambo is a non-profit association created in 2009 by a group of friends with the intention of developing educational and cultural programmes for children and adolescents in the community of Ollantaytambo and surroundings.

The main project, "Yachay Wasi early education center", was created to offer an educational space for children from 2 to 6 years old where the needs, the singularity and the rhythm of each child are respected.

Our practice favors the harmonious development of children through the pleasure of movement and play, communication, expression, creation, action research and discovery, mainly by promoting their autonomy.
It is an educational alternative innovative and committed to local realities and the present times.

At 'Yachay Wasi' we welcome the children with love, affection and respect. We offer a healthy environment, which responds to the real needs of small children, with activities that allow them to understand the world through their own experience, through doing, playing, experimenting with their senses. We care for the environment, recycling, thus developing an "ecological awareness".

A child in "Yachay Wasi" plays... primary activity that allows him to deploy the ethical, moral, intellectual and social skills that determine his future; participates in circle rounds that help the maturity and mastery of the body; builds sand castles, where displays all his creativity; listens to stories, which help him to develop his imagination, as well as achieve the ability to listen and pay attention; makes bread, activity that takes place through the imitation of the adult world; he also paints, dance, acts and naturally integrates to the world, preparing himself to face his future life.

We also offer a space for psychological support for children and their families, in order to accompany the comprehensive and harmonious development of children in their first years of life, with particular emphasis on the emotional and familiar aspects.

MISSION
Complement and contribute in the education of children and adolescents in the District of Ollantaytambo, offering different alternatives and educative and cultural activities. We want to educate people reflective, creative and critical, confident, motivated, transmitting good values and providing them with tools that help them to cope in the modern world.

VISION
Yachay Wasi broadens the scope of action, develops new and varied projects that serve as a model to other institutions or communities, contributing to become better people and better societies. Develop partnerships with various public and private institutions, ensuring the success of their programs.
