Über uns

Indus Society for Rural Development (ISRD) is an indigenous NGO (non-government organization) registered under Societies Registration Act 1860. Formerly Society for Youth Development (SYD) was founded in 2005 and started self-help activities of saving and internal lending. Later SYD registered under Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration & Control) Ordinance 1961 (XLVI of 1961), and launched a project “Promoting Quality Education for Peace Building” with establishment of Earth Stars Academy, Islamkot for High School Level English Medium Education.
The ISRD aim is to work hand in hand with rural communities using participatory methods to map up their development needs and start working together as the community.

Community that is empowered to advance rural initiative to access basic needs, which can promote sustainable livelihood through self reliance and community participation

MISSION STATEMENT
Facilitate development based on self reliance, self sufficiency through effective implementation, promotion and support of integrated rural development with full participation and ownership of the rural communities

OBJECTIVE
To improve food security and household income in the rural areas.
To promote good health through increasing awareness on the causes of various diseases as well as promotion of safe motherhood.
To promote access to safe and portable water, good sanitation and hygiene using participatory methods
To promote quality education, adult literacy programs and affordable vocational skills to the vulnerable youth and women
To promote awareness on natural resources management, climate change mitigation and adaptation
