NYANSOZI PRIMARY SCHOOL
wird verwaltet von J. MUZAHURA
Nyansozi primary school is 75 years old located in a very poor rural area about 10 kms south of Fort-portal town( KABAROLE).which is a major economic centre in western Uganda. It was founded by the Roman Catholic Church in 1932 and it is now government-aided.In 1997 Uganda introduced Universal Primary Education which has led to additional pressure on the already strained resources. The school roll stands at 784 and is set to increase by another 300 or more in the next few years. All the teaching staff and the students have to walk long distances daily to get to school and the headteacher comes from Fort-Portal Town which is 10 kms away from the school for a single journey. The school does not have any single house at the school where teachers could be accommodated. The school has started on the banana plantation project which needs some people around to provide security. There is no electricity or running water on site and no immediate prospect of either.Nor are there any sports or recreational facilities. The 784 students are taught in classrooms which have no windows and doors shutters which makes hard for students to learn when it is windy. There is no library.Despite the overwhelming challenges they face, there is an energetic and dedicated headteacher Muzahura James who being supported by the enthusiastic staff and parents who share his vision for the future of the school.
