Über uns
Der Name der südindischen Nichtregierungsorganisation UDAVI ist mit Bedacht gewählt: Einerseits bedeut das Wort in Tamil ‚Hilfe’, andererseits stehen die Buchstaben für Upliftment of Democratic And Village Improvement Society.
Die vor 16 Jahren gegründete NGO ist seit 1993 unter dem Tamil Nadu Societies registration Act 1975 registriert. Seitdem haben Projekte unterschiedlicher Art, aber immer mit Focus auf die marginalisierten Gruppen Kinder und Frauen, vor UDAVI gestanden. Mit nationalen und internationalen Mitteln möchten wir durch unsere Projekte die lokalen Organisationen stärken, die Kinderarbeit abschaffen, bessere Bedingungen für Menschen mit Behinderungen schaffen und präventiv gegen sexuell übertragbaren Krankheiten sowie AIDS in Slums vorgehen. Außerdem werden auch Projekte zur Unterstützung der Tsunami-Opfer organisiert.
Derzeit konzentriert sich die Arbeit auf drei Projekte:
(1) Land and Livelihood Rights for the Internally Displaced Community
(2) Rehabilitation Program for Street Children
(3) Rehabilitation for the Persons with Disabilities

Dear donors,
when managers of a project haven't requested a payout over the course of a longer period, the German law and our terms of use provide that we (gut.org gemeinnützige AG, operator of betterplace.org) use the money for our tax-deductible purposes. The same applies to the cancellation of a project, where the manager of the project is unable to realize it.
Therefore we will use these donations for the following purposes:
