Über uns

"To learn to read YES, but to read WHAT ?"
Even in rich countries, young blind children have nearly no books adapted to their handicap. Can we imagine a sighted child arriving in First Grade without having handled one single book ? No. That's why in 1994, a teacher and some parents established Dreaming Fingers. A tactile illustrated book is a long work to design, has 2 writings (large print & Braille), pictures in relief made with material cut and glued, strong color's contrasts, and a special binding (tactile ergonomy), all this for few amount of copies, thus handmade. Our workshop employs only people with social disabilities; " people excluded from work produce books for children excluded from reading". Yes those books are more expansive to produce (4h/handwork/copy), but if reading is a Right for all children, those children have it too.
