Voice of Teachers Radio Program
The VOICE OF TEACHERS Radio Program is a media based educational initiative dedicated to advancing the realization of quality education of all, by all and for all. Began in 2009, the radio show airs weekly and reaches over 1.5 million listeners on Radio Nigeria Kapital FM 92.9 in Abuja. Initially supported by Teachers Without Borders, the radio show has become a sustainable program gaining wide endorsements and have received support for airtime cost from Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, National Commission for Colleges of Education, National Commission for Museums and Monuments, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Colleges and Universities as well as individuals and organizations, including the Millennium Development Ambassadors.

The Voice of Teachers radio program was considered in the award by Raphael Ogar Oko as Champion of Quality Education in Africa in 2009 by the Ashoka Changemakers/Hewlett Foundation prize.
The Voice of Teachers radio program is now the program of Global Educators for All Initiative and Millennium Development Ambassadors (http://mdgambassadors.org/project/teachers-radio-show/).

The Voice of Teachers radio program seeks to fulfil the vision of quality education of all, by all and for all through:
• Inspiring listeners with a new global vision of education
• Empowering listeners with core educational professional development issues and programs
• Connecting listeners to qualitative information, each other/colleagues and to educational resources
• Utilizing information and communication technologies as tools for mass education and providing opportunities for the voices of teachers/educators and listeners to be heard
• Celebrating outstanding commitments, dedications and accomplishments by educators and educational agencies as well as other institutions committed to enhancing the quality, access and delivery of education.

The Voice of Teachers radio show on Radio Nigeria Kapital FM 92.9 in 2012 focused on offering educational courses by radio for many parents, teachers and leaders. It covered courses in Human Rights Education, Millennium Development Goals Education, and Teacher professional development education and has been a very inspiring program for me and I believe that it has touched issues and the lives of many people.

In 2013, we hope to do it better and I am convinced that the Voice of Teachers will not only bring innovative ideas and discussions but shall give birth to the Voices of Students radio show, hopefully on Radio Nigeria network as well as online too. This is where we need your encouragement and support. We do not rely only on funding from large corporations and governments alone but also from the large population of listeners and friends who admire the work that we seek to do.

We are therefore looking up to receiving support from many friends and listeners to enable us start the Voices of Students radio show, where we will provide opportunities for students to share their challenges and opportunities and have their voices heard too.We will need very little support from each person. We are asking that you donate as little as US $10 only to support the Voice of Teachers radio show to enable us remain on air and go online in 2013 as well as launch the Voices of Students radio that will connect students to information, each other and to educational resources as well as empower students and celebrate their determination, dedication and accomplishments.

During this season of giving and in the New Year, we appeal that you include us in your list of organizations that you may give something to. As little as US $10 can make a difference for us in 2013 and you can become a Supporter of the Voice of Teachers Radio program for 2013.
