Our trip from Kiel to Kappeln went quite well. We never thought how delighted one can be about a grey sky without any rain! The trip took us via Gettorf and Eckernförde (Fischbrötchen & Danish soft ice) away from the coast but into beautiful rural sceneries between Schlei river and the ocean.

Yesterday we woke up with bright sun shine and kicked off with Kappeln‘s amazing bridge. The entire day offered sunshine, awesome ocean and bay views, challenging uphill and speedy downhill rides. We’ve seen smooth bike lanes but also single trails - at one point we even had to carry the bikes to prevent them and us from slipping into the water. Learning: next time choose your bike wisely 😬😅.

When we’ve arrived at Flensburg, we realized that we actually didn’t gain 400 km in total, but 330 are not bad, either. With tears in the eyes, proud and happy about the accomplishment, we checked in at a harbor located Seemannsheim we can only recommend for a stay in nautical Flensburg.

While sitting in the train back to Berlin we want to close our project for now. We haven’t reached our funding goal of 500 Euro but 436 Euro are still a lot of money to support Seebrücke‘s essential work.
