I can't say as I was really looking forward to a long swim this morning. I had all sorts of excuses for being slow ... bit snotty, feeling lethargic etc etc. Wasn't totally convinced I could manage 2km without completely wiping myself out.
Still, I dragged myself to the pool ready to be in the water the moment the kids swim club finished.
It felt pretty horribly slow. I think felt like I was going backwards versus the simple 2km breastroke swims I got used to doing before I embarked upon all this stroke improvement malarkey.
I found a bit of pleasure in cruising past the broad shouldered 6ft guy in the lane next to me on a lower stroke rate and much less splashy.
It got to the last 10 lengths and the endorphins finally arrived and I thought, hey, let's do a few more. I seem to have the energy ... just an extra 100m ... ah well, might as well do 100 lengths total - nice round number! Lo and behold 25% extra! Yippee! Bacon reward for me!
