Preparations for the climb are in progress.....

In the last months, Andrea and I prepared thoroughly our climb, physically and mentally. Climbing up Mt. Kilimanjaro is a question of determination and specially on summit day you need a strong will to make it up to Uhuru Peak and get in line with the spirit of Africa´s highest peak, which is at the same time the world´s highest free standing mountain and volcano, 5892m AMSL.

It´s now Day 11 of the countdown until we leave UAE to spend our first night at the bottom of Kilimanjaro in Moshi, Tanzania.

Packing lists are ready to be ticked and the bags are ready to be packed. We´ll have one 90 liters duffle bag each, filled with a max. of 15kg, plus our own backpack, that we will fill with a max. of 10kg during the trek up to Uhuru Peak.
All our equipment is very lightweight, waterproof and, for the cold days and nights at higher altitudes to come, sleeping in our tents under the stars of East Africa.

Updates to follow.....
