Worum es geht
Dear Friends,
Nyabohanse Children Rescue Centre supports orphans, abandoned children and girls who has escaped from female genital mutilation (FGM) and forced marriages. We want to offer refuge to these children, a place they can call home, secure and where they are safe and can go to school together with other children from the community, leading a normal life.
We undertake diverse activities supporting children ranging from prevention, treatment, disability, addressing orphans and the disabled affected by HIV & AIDS and continued support towards getting a healthy generation. We endevour to challenge outdated and dreadful traditions, which damage our children’s well-being and which prolong the marginalization of women. Female Genital Mutilation is outlawed throughout the world and in Kenya it is banned but still being practised in many parts of the country hence contributing to another major problem of forced marriages of underage girls and unwanted pregnancies
Being a Community Based Organisation in a rural setup, Nyabohanse Children Rescue Centre is focal on women programs that enhance gender equity. We want to shelter 90 girls and 30 boys and offer them education and basic needs. Since inception in October, 2011 we already had a dozen girls who desperately needed help. And many more girls were looking for protection and took refuge at our Rescue Center, and the number has been increasing by day.
