About this project

With the podcast „Stories that stay“ we can transport our education and commemorative culture to a broad audience. The podcast will be a vital element to make ZWEITZEUGEN e.V. perceptible to the outside by making the stories of contemporary witnesses and the stories of the committed secondary witnesses hearable.
The association‘s aim is to enable a further format to countervail antisemitism and discrimination as well as structures of inequality and to take up social responsibility.

As an informative offer the podcast mainly addresses educational institutions and multiplicators for school education and extracurricular education. The purpose is to reach out to even more children and teenagers to make a ZWEITZEUGEN education possible for them in the long term.

Especially we would like to elate educational institutions and multiplicators of our form of remembrance and encourage them to establish it as part of their own worksphere.
Listen to the first season yourself, for example on YouTube.

ZWEITZEUGEN e.V. wants to tell the lifestories of people who have survived the Holocaust. The experiences of the contemporary witnesses before, during and after the Second World War up to today are the source and the hub of every episode. The stories of the witnesses‘ survival are told by the secondary witnesses who have met and interviewed the survivors personally. They, too, tell their stories and add their perspective to enrichen the listening experience. Furthermore audio citations from the interviews will be interlaced.

This format enables us to present the reason why we believe these stories are relevant today. It offers ideas and inspiration to the listeners how they themselves can work on the remembrance of the Holocaust with children and teenagers. In addition it is meant to be a helpful suggestion as well as an encouragement to commit oneself to a democratic society!
Personal insights are supposed to give you a deep and individual impression in the work of the ZWEITZEUGEN and thus arouse your interest to transfer the principle of secondary witnessing in your own worksphere.
