DofE reaches 100 new Award Schools - empowering young people

Berlin, Germany

Over the next 100 months, we would like to win 100 new schools as Award Operators so that as many young people as possible can discover and directly experience their infinite potential outside of the classroom: "There is more in you than you think!"

Celebrating the life and legacy of our Founder, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021

This year marks the centenary of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. Whilst he is no longer with us, we would like to mark this monumental milestone and celebrate HRH Prince Philip – a champion of young people’s infinite potential. Please join us in this celebration of HRH and the infinite legacy he has left in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is a global framework for non-formal education. The Duke is open to students aged between 14 and 24. The Bronze, Silver and Gold levels require increasing amounts of time, effort and personal responsibility. Participants choose their own activities in the service, talent, fitness and expedition sections of the programme, set personal goals and challenge themselves to achieve them. At the end of their participation, they receive an internationally recognised award.

Over the next 100 months, we are challenging ourselves as National Award Operator in Germany to recruit 100 new schools as Award Operators so that as many young people as possible can discover and directly experience their potential outside the classroom and our motto comes to life: There is more in you than you think! In doing so, we would also particularly like to support schools in socially disadvantaged environments in implementing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. We support them by assisting their Award Leaders with expedition training, expedition planning, the implementation of their first expeditions and by providing their pupils with expedition equipment.

To be able to do this, we need your help!

Please support us in our challenge by donating funds or by setting your personal 100-themed challenges and raising funds for us to help ensure that the legacy of HRH The Duke ofEdinburgh can continue for many years to come (you can set up a fundraising campaign by using the link "Start fundraising event" below the donate-button).

We are deeply grateful for your support. Doing one's DofE can be life-changing for many young people and open up whole new paths. Please refer to our website (duke-award.de) for additional information or contact us directly: vanessa.masing@duke-award.de
