Our Sick Kitties Need Help

Echo, Alethe’s daughter that arrived at the shelter when she was just a few days old with her Mom and her siblings in summer of 2012, has been having cystitis for weeks. She is straining to urinate and crying.

There’s blood in her urine and she’s peeing frequently and painfully, as she has crystals in her bladder and urethra. She is being given antibiotics, diuretics, pain relief meds and muscle relaxants. She’s presently eating only Royal Canin veterinary urinary SO food.

Echo’s start to life was incredibly hard as she and her siblings were born as unwanted babies to an unwanted Mom. Their future didn’t look promising from the very beginning and all of them were brought to the shelter literally at the last possible moment. She grew into a stunning fluffy cutie and we simply can’t fail her now, in her desperate time of need. She just can’t keep suffering like she is.

Tufnica has been wasting away for quite some time now. She is bone skinny and seems to have some kind of serious health problem.

She has already been through a major crisis two years ago and she’s luckily managed to recover, but now whatever she has is catching up with her again.

The latest visit to the vet revealed she had stomatitis and gingivitis and she is currently under treatment.

She must be around eight years old, she was brought to me as a wee baby which had just barely opened her eyes.

She was hand raised, bottle fed and succeeded in surviving panleukopenia when she was little, as she’s a genuine fighter and she definitely deserves her fighting chance!

Njanja is not feeling well again. He was in really bad shape this last spring, firstly he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and later on it turned out he had FLUTD as well. He was skinny and utterly weak but managed to recover and gain some weight eventually.

Now he’s losing weight, his appetite is poor and he’s nothing but a shadow of his former self. He’s sick with bronchitis and is being given antibiotics, the only food (of which he eats just a little) is medical urinary food.

He has had more than his share of trauma and suffering already as he was one of the 17 kitties that were rescued from a shared yard in my hometown after an attempt by certain people to put all of the cats into bags, take them away and kill them, presumably.

A year later I gave him up for adoption, but the person who took him in and promised she’d love him and take care of him forever was actually planning to sell him! After a few heartrending weeks filled with sadness, anger and worries, he was finally returned, terrified and emaciated.

If you’re able to donate even just a little towards our sick kitties’ treatments, please do so! We’re doing everything we can to help them, but our bills are skyrocketing and we can’t do much all by ourselves!
