It Never Gets Any Easier

We sincerely apologize to all of you wonderful people who are following our work for being so quiet lately. We haven’t posted many updates on the roof repairs at Cat Shelter Felix and the kitties’ health, to name just a few, as we’ve been terribly busy and swamped by problems that we have literally no idea how to solve.

So far we’ve managed to raise a little less than half of the sum we need to finish the roofing replacement.

We’re heartfeltedly grateful to everyone who has helped so far, but there’s still a long way to go to cover all of the costs and time is running short.

We purchased the wooden cladding needed to fill in the gaps between the top of the walls and the roof of the auxiliary cats’ rooms, but the additional material needed to make the triangular wooden gables has been purchased on a credit which hasn’t been paid off yet.

Moreover, we’ll have to purchase metal sheeting in order to lengthen the metal roof and extend it over the existing path so that the entire walkaway will be a sheltered place that’s very needed, particularly during the cold snowy months.

Our two little girls Tink and Shadow, two very best of friends, are sneezing.

Last week they were at the vet’s together, little Shadow passed her check up with flying colors and Tink was revaccinated against contagious diseases.

Both of them behaved nicely, just as nice young ladies should, but now they’re having problems (luckily, with no fevers) and they are both once again under veterinary treatment. It’s so unfair, these little sweeties have definitely had enough nasty things happen to them already.

Kremko, who has always been so beautiful and so magnificent is not feeling very well either.

Although he behaves normally, he’s lost a ton of weight recently and is now half the huge, vibrant cat he used to be.

Many kitties lose weight in summer, but this is different and I fear he has a serious problem.

We urgently need help to not only perform all of the necessary analyses (UV scan, blood tests, etc.) in order to find out what’s going on with him, but we also need to feed him the highest quality food to try and help him bounce back.

He is not young; he must be more than 12 years old now, but it’s impossible to pinpoint his age exactly as he was rescued from a shelter that burned to ground and arrived here in 2011, gorgeous even then.

He survived the major blaze and managed to stay alive on the totally devastated site of the fire for a month until the Felix kitties’ saviors came to his rescue. He definitely deserves a fighting chance!

All of the cats from the backyard are still confined in the improvised enclosure of which they’ve had just about enough and are constantly trying to break out. Not a single dime has been paid of the workers’ wages yet…

Please, spread the word of our plight and help us in any way you can! We’re doing everything possible and then some, but we have no chance of finishing the repair work and help our sick kitties bounce back if you don’t somehow get involved!

Help Cat Shelter Felix If You Possibly Can!
