The ITFS is a festival of encounter and diversity. We had planned it for 2021 hybrid, with the aim of being accessible to all audiences both online and on site. Now we, the Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH as organiser, are once again forced to cancel the events in the Stuttgart cinemas, on the Schlossplatz and other locations due to the Corona pandemic. Of course, the health of our staff, the many spectators from all over the world and the immediate region, as well as all others who support us in staging our events, is always our top priority!
This on-site cancellation is not only a financial loss. Rather, we lose direct contact with our audience and participants and cannot offer our filmmakers a presence on the big screen. As cultural organisers, we and our service providers in the event industry, artists, filmmakers and creatives continue to be hit particularly hard.
Nevertheless, we will make it possible for our fans to be there online, to see unique and current films, to take part in discussions or workshops and to enjoy the festival atmosphere in a free live stream - with our OnlineFestival.ITFS.de platform.
There are three areas on OnlineFestival.ITFS.de: free of charge with ITFS Live-Stream, GameZone and the ITFS VR Hub, for a fee with Online+ for film fans with full access to the film programme with the current International Competition, the other competitions Young Animation, Tricks for Kids, Trickstar Nature as well as selected feature-length films of the AniMovie Competition, access to galas and award ceremonies. OnlinePro is especially for the Professionals with additional workshops and talks.
With your donation, we want to bring the ITFS digitally alive and create a place of encounter. The ITFS VR Hub is planned to be accessible free of charge, realised with the American XR designer and architect Allison Crank and the Swiss VR expert Christophe Merkle. Unlike many other VR experiences, visiting the multi-user 3D world of the ITFS VR Hub is easy - no download, simple access via browser or VR glasses. Anyone can join in and help shape the ITFS world. You can interact, talk, place objects or move around casually and with others using your own chosen avatar - a creative place that makes the unlimited possibilities of animation immersive, interactive and real-time and is also easily accessible for VR novices. Within the ITFS VR Hub, there will be additional, exclusive offers such as screenings, talks and creative DIY activities in various spaces, such as the Schlossplatz, a club or cinema. In this way, we want to enrich the festival through interactive meetings and stay in touch with our fans, filmmakers and partners.
The ITFS VR Hub is - as at the Stuttgart Schlossplatz - freely available to all visitors during the festival and accessible at all times! We need your support for this!
