Support further - continue to show solidarity
Education and emergency aid for young people on refuge!
Those who live in poverty, have limited access to education and participation in society, suffer from discrimination or are refugees are hit very hard in the current crisis.
With your support, we can take action for children and young people
In Jordan's capital Amman, the youth centre "A Place for All" supports children and young people who have had to flee Syria, for example. Despite the current situation, they should continue to have the opportunity to take advantage of educational opportunities to which they have had only limited access since they fled. For this purpose, varied leisure and educational activities and homework supervision (initially online) are offered. Language and IT courses are intended to permanently improve future prospects for the young people, e.g. on the labour market. Along the way, they also strengthen their self-confidence, take on responsibility and learn to stand up for their interests.
At the Bosnian-Croatian border, the situation continues to get worse: lack of accommodation, a shortage of food and medical care as well as harassment and violence by the authorities expose people to acute dangers - and are particularly unbearable for children and young people. As a result of illegal pushbacks at the border and disastrous conditions in refugee camps, people have no option but to camp outdoors. The ongoing pandemic further deteriorates living conditions. With your donation, we advocate for basic hygienic services, such as sanitary facilities or hygiene products, and for basic food and clothing. We cooperate with volunteers from Tuzla (Bosnia) who provide the young refugees and their families with emergency care and relief supplies. For us, the principle remains: Leave no one behind!
In order to continue to support the children and young people in our project regions even in difficult times, we are now launching this donation campaign. We stand in solidarity across borders, since for us it is certain: everyone has a right to education and decent care!
Especially now it is important to open up perspectives for the children and young people in South Eastern Europe and Jordan. This is what we want to do. Schüler Helfen Leben shows how much young people can achieve together. We remain #weitersolidarisch !
The needs listed are only examples. What the donations will be used for depends on the situation and the local developments. We will continue to draw attention to and report on these in the ongoing fundraising campaign - mainly on our campaign page https://weitersolidarisch.schueler-helfen-leben.de/.
