L.I.F.E. Community Center

L.I.F.E. Tanzania supports families on their way out of poverty.
In Tanzania many families give their children into orphanages in the hope of a brighter future for their children. But every child has the right of his/ her family.
L.I.F.E. Tanzania is an Initiative that steps in where the public system of Tanzania fails:
Daycare facilities for infants and afterschool programs for pupils.
In close cooperation with national and international organizations a center will be built in a socially deprived area of Arusha to support families in need in terms of childcare, regular meals, English lessons and tutoring:
The L.I.F.E. Community Center.
With its community center L.I.F.E. supports and complements public schools to provide equal chances for every child.
In March 2021 the land for our community center has been bought. It is in the district Intel in Arusha where many poor families settle. They live in unfinished buildings in small rooms with shared outdoor lavatories. In close distance to our property are several public primary schools. Through childcare and educational services L.I.F.E. intends to have a long-lasting impact on the families of this community. Because families are the most important pillar of a society!

About us: L.I.F.E. means `Local Initiative for Families and Education´ and is a cooperation of `Step Africa - Exchange for Change´ and `Gily's Children Foundation´. Gilbert Peter Lasway, Upendo Lema and Kira Uher are the directors of L.I.F.E. in Arusha. Kupanda e.V. is official partner association and together we aim to provide meaningful and sustainable support to families in Arusha.
All donations are tax-deductible and fully go into the development of the L.I.F.E. Community Center.
