Workshop "Beekeeping in the forest kindergarten"

Springe-Eldagsen, Germany

Make it possible for a nature or forest kindergarten to take part in the 2-day bee workshop. In this way you help to make forest kindergartens bee-friendly and children learn how to protect wild bees.

About this project

Some nature and forest kindergartens have already put the sustainable idea of combining beekeeping and kindergarten into practice. They have a small apiary and take care of the protection of the wild bees. Sometimes the spark of enthusiasm for bees jumps over to others, but there could be more.

The original home of the bees was the forests. She lived in old woodpecker holes and collected nectar and pollen from trees, bushes and flowers in the forest. Only “Zeitler” were allowed to harvest the precious bees - honey and wax - from the forest. But that was a long time ago.

Today we know that climate change is affecting bees and forests. That is why it is important for the Federal Association of Natural and Forest Kindergartens in Germany to bring the joy of working with bees closer to even more natural and forest kindergartens.

We would like to organize a two-day workshop where bee experts and interested educators and parents from the nature and forest kindergartens can exchange ideas. The planned conference location is the energy and environmental center in Eldagsen / Lower Saxony. The BvNW can bear part of the costs for materials, fees for speakers, meals and accommodation as well as other costs. In order to enable as many natural and forest kindergartens as possible to participate - even those with little financial means - we depend on your donation!

For € 160 you enable a nature or forest kindergarten to take part in the bee workshop. In this way you help to make forest kindergartens bee-friendly and children learn how to protect wild bees.
