About this project
We are a rather small institution, at least we are very limited in space. Both in the day nursery and in the after-school care centre. But we have a great location and are surrounded by forest. Since the summer, the children have been clearing the woods around the nursery from rubbish. The idea was born to create a forest camp. The first shelter has already been built. During the autumn holidays the children made benches and tables from natural materials under the guidance of their teachers.
We would like to apply for the "Wunschbaumaktion 2020" (Wish Tree Campaign 2020) and would like to receive a voucher for a do-it-yourself store for missing tools and building materials to further expand our forest camp.
This would enable the children and us to spend even more time in nature in all weathers.
Our forest goblins (Waldkobolde)
In our day care centre 85 day care and after-school care children are currently looked after by 8 educators. We are a KNEIPP-Kita, i.e. our children are outdoors a lot and grow up very close to nature. Our day nursery and after-school care centre is located in the school building of the Walddrehna primary school. The day nursery has three rooms on the third floor of the primary school. Our day care centre children have a similar situation: they are divided into three rooms in a separate area of the school building. Therefore, we try to spend as much time as possible outdoors to give our children space and room for fresh air, exercise and exploration.
