Nach der schweren Explosion in Beirut entsendet die Duisburger Hilfsorganisation I.S.A.R. Germany am Mittwochabend ein Expertenteam in die libanesische Hauptstadt. Dazu gehören ein Arzt, ein Experte für Gefahrstoffe und zwei Logistiker. Sie unterstützen im Rahmen einer Einsatzkooperation das Team des Technisches Hilfswerk (THW).
Außerdem fliegt ein Erkundungsteam der Hilfsorganisationen I.S.A.R. und BRH Bundesverband Rettungshunde e.V. in die libanesische Hauptstadt, um den Einsatz einer medizinischen Notfall-Einheit zu prüfen und gegebenenfalls vorzubereiten.
Insgesamt werden sieben Experten aus Nordrhein-Westfalen, Rheinland-Pfalz und Berlin in das Katastrophengebiet entsandt.
