Soap, masks and disinfectants for the people in the Mathare slum, Kenya

Mathare, Nairobi , Kenya

Already with our first fundraising campaign we were able to collect enough donations so that the local people are looked after for the time being. Unfortunately, the reserves from that first fundraiser will not last long.

About this project

We have set ourselves the goal of enabling the children in the Mathare slum, Kenya, to have a decent everyday school life. This includes the provision of school supplies, but also the food supply at school. In addition to the clothing of the pupils, the salary for the teachers must also be paid. Some pupils are orphans and live in school, where they are looked after by the headmaster, Josephat, and his family.

Already with our first fundraising campaign we were able to collect enough donations so that the local people are looked after for the time being. Unfortunately, the reserves from that first fundraiser will not last long.
We have already been able to introduce social distancing through advice that has been passed on to students, teachers etc. within the school. However, there is a lack of simple hygiene items such as soap, masks and disinfectants. Since hygiene in a slum is at a low level, people there are particularly at risk of disease.

With this call for donations, we would like to ask you to help us provide these articles and to provide protection for people in the Mathare slum from serious illnesses. Every single euro already helps!
