HundeDoc

The HundeDoc project is run by veterinarian Jeanette Klemmt, who drives an ambulance to various contact shops for the homeless. The former ambulance was converted for veterinary treatments and operations.

The target group are punks, the homeless, people on the run and members of so-called social fringe groups whose main focus is on the street, as well as people who need support in coping with everyday life due to chronic mental and/or physical illnesses.

Since animals are often very important to these people, HundeDoc builds on the relationship between humans and animals and motivates people to take more responsibility for their own personal and social concerns.

HundeDoc offers free advice and basic veterinary care. Operations and castrations are carried out by arrangement and appointment. The mobile service creates access to social work for people who are sometimes critical or even hostile to social assistance offers. The project cooperates with other institutions to this end.

The veterinary care and advice services serve as a bridge between social workers and pet owners. At the same time, HundeDoc makes an important contribution to animal welfare.
