„Welcome Ceremony“ for our new Kita-Kids at Nyota

In February we proudly welcomed our 12 new kids - orphans and half-orphans - at the Nyota KiTa. It is a nice Nyota tradition to celebrate such an important event with a welcome ceremony, so that it will be an unforgettable day for the smallest, who now start into a new chapter of their life at a cared place. The youngest is now 3 years and 3 month old, the whole Nyota staff participated on our ceremony - the educators, the kitchen team, the gardeners - all came to welcome our new kids.

The KiTa was colorfully decorated, a strap has been cut ceremoniously by our project manager Wyclife - then the buffet was open to be bum-rushed. To mark the occasion, we had lemonade instead of tea and lovely baked cake for our children. All kids got a little present, everybody got to know each other and had a lot of fun. The kids ran around the compound together with the staff, singing and dancing, exploring the area. A highlight was also the visit of our Nyota Green Garden. There the kids admired, how their future meals - fresh fruits, vegetables, maize- are growing.

In January, there also left 12 kids to start at public school, so now we actually care about 33 kids in our two KiTa groups. Grace has already taken the youngest into her big heart - "i love them". She cares about the "baby-class", that's how the educators call them lovely. In Future, there will be played, laughed, learned and if necessary also soothed, when necessary.

It was a wonderful day, ceremoniously and touching for the Nyota-Team. Funny and exciting for the kids, who will be cared by the Nyota-Team for the next years.

...by the way, we are also on twitter, if you want to follow us for news!
