About this project

All children need a home, a safe place to grow, to build the future of our world. But not all children are lucky.

In recent decades, the living situation in South Africa has deteriorated due to HIV/AIDS and drug abuse. It is primarily the children who suffer most. They are born into the cycle of poverty, disease and drug abuse. Like any other cycle, it can be broken and rebuilt, because today's children have to offer the children of tomorrow a safe home. We can bring about change. We can invest in the future of these children, in their education - and in something as basic as a roof over their heads.

We have 4 key areas of focus in South Africa:

1. Basic financing of our Elonwabeni Children's and Family Centre
Accommodation, food and school attendance for 26 children, payment for vehicles for journeys to school, kindergarten, therapy and visits to doctors.
2. Care and social services
Housemothers, social workers and security personnel in Elonwabeni.
3. Reintegration into families
Training programmes for relatives and foster families to reintegrate children into functioning family structures.
4. Generate income
Women from the surrounding townships create arts and crafts from beads and wire.

We are officially recognised as a charitable foundation. Your donation is tax deductible! We have no administrative apparatus and work on a voluntary basis. Your donation directly benefits the children and families on site.
