Corona pandemic in India: people in poor areas need hygiene products

About the project:

The members of many Indian families who earn their living are mostly landless farmers or day labourers. Due to the collapsing economy, the farmers do not receive fair prices for their harvest and their vegetables and day labourers cannot find work. The aid for the poor families organized by the Indian government is limited to rice and wheat. The people receive no support from the government in providing masks and other hygiene items.

The organization Sri Mayapur Vikas Sangha (SMVS) would like to support 300 women's self-help groups with about 3,000 members in total, including women with disabilities. They would like to educate them about health and hygiene measures and distribute masks and disinfectants among the women to stem the spread of the corona virus in the population. To this end, they will also carry out education campaigns on the correct wearing of face masks, the correct washing of hands with soap and the correct use of disinfectants. They will also provide clean water and sanitary facilities for the people.

bezev (www.bezev.de) supports Sri Mayapur Vikas Sangha in his work to protect the local people in the region of Sri Mayapur from Corona. The organisation urgently needs donations for the purchase and distribution of hygiene products such as masks and disinfectants.
