On March 24, the government in India imposed a curfew to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The population hardly had time to prepare and the situation for the poorer rural population worsens every day. Many rural people live from hand to mouth as they often only find work as day laborers. With the “lockout” it is no longer possible for them to earn the financial means they urgently need to feed their families. Old and single widows are hit even harder.

Asha Vihar is now packing “Care” packages with food to at least alleviate their misery.
We calculated that for only € 6, a package can be packed to provide single people or widows with the essentials. Families need 3 packages, so go with them
€ 18 to be booked.

The package contains: 4 kg of rice, 4 kg of flour, 250 ml of oil, legumes, potatoes or green vegetables and soap. The amount is enough for about 3 weeks.
For starters, we start with 100 packages.
