The Gambia is being severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the spread of the virus in the country remains contained, The Gambia is extremely vulnerable to the pandemic due to the density of its population and a weak health system (IMF, 2019).
The government forecast that about two-third of workers in the informal sector which accounts for 80% of the country’s informal economy are facing precarious situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Most people in rural Gambia have no regular income, let alone any savings to fall back to during these difficult times. To that end, AGEDA in partnership with MADRA Development Foundation are appealingfor donations to support these people during this difficult period. No amount is too small! - as little as £2 a day (£60 a month) can go a long way inproviding a typical household with basic supplies such as: Rice, Sugar, Bread, Cooking Oil, Onion, Soap etc.
Thank you in advance for your patron.
