Since 1990, the Offene Kunstverein e.V. (OKeV) has been revitalizing the Potsdam art and culture scene with theater, visual art and international and municipal projects.
In the numerous courses and workshops, an experienced team of artists enables children and adolescents in particular to take part in extra-curricular lifelong learning in the fields of art and culture. They should be enabled to develop skills in dealing with the arts and to develop their own cultural and aesthetic forms of expression and to deal imaginatively and sensually with their own living environment.
They learn to understand art as an individual and collective means of expression, but also gain an insight into the wealth and traditions of art. However, this claim is only possible with a long-term concept and guaranteed quality, which is reflected in the numerous courses. The OKeV is in the truest sense of the word a multi-generational association, a welcome feature that has emerged in the past few decades: people from 7 to 70 years of age now meet here. People who started as children often remain connected to the association into adulthood.
