About this project

Dear Friends, Partners & Supporters,

In Safe-Hub communities, the current lockdown has meant loss of employment for many of South Africa's most vulnerable populations, leaving families struggling to raise funds for basic needs like food and hygiene supplies that help curb the spread of COVID-19. It has also meant loss of crucial educational and supportive spaces that many families and individuals rely on for health and safety. In order to adapt to the needs of the communities we serve, AMANDLA has created a campaign to provide:

  1. Four weeks of vouchers to support 4,000 households’ nutritional and hygiene needs across the country;
  2. Bulk SMS communication to spread reputable information to Safe-Hub families to keep their households safe and informed;
  3. Data provisions to our 17+ participants and coaches to continue their ongoingeducation while creating virtual networks of mental health and emotional supportwithin the Safe-Hub community.
AMANDLA’s total budget for this campaign is ZAR1.9 million (approximately 96.000€). As our long-time friends and supporters, we are asking for your support in contributing to this emergency fund and to show your solidarity with our resilient Safe-Hub families.

We thank you for your incredible encouragement and support during this time! #inthistogether

Yours truly,

#teamAMANDLA
