Acoustical insulation for Vineyard Köln church in Cologne, Germany

Köln, Germany

We need to put acoustical insulation into the suspended ceiling of our main room for Sunday services and other events, in order to dampen the sound that gets out into the rest of the apartment building we're in. Cost: 12,000 € in total.

About this project

We are the Vineyard church in Cologne, Germany and are a part of Vineyard DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and of the worldwide Vineyard movement.

About a year ago we moved into our new church home in the northern part of the city. The main room has a capacity for about 100 people, a kitchen/bar area and there are additional rooms for children's ministry. Worship is one of the core values of Vineyard and so the music is one of the main parts of our Sunday services.

Unfortunately, the house where we found our new home in has apartments on the upper floors and is transmitting sound very well throughout the building. In addition, we have grown from 30 visitors on an average Sunday to 60 - 70 visitors and more people make more noise. Whenever we have any event at all there, our neighbors are always a part of it acoustically, whether they want to or not.

So, in order to keep continuing our services as usual we need to install acoustical insulation into the suspended ceiling. We have a reasonable offer from a competent company, which happens to be owned by a fellow brother, a Christian. We will only pay the cost of material and are able to install it ourselves with the help of volunteers.

We are solely financed by tithes and donations and cannot mount this investment on our own, so we need your help!

If it is on your heart to support us in this endeavour - even a small amount helps - then this is the ideal opportunity to do so!
