We brought this dog back from Crete during on of our Castration trips.
The vets could already tell that something was off. After listening to the dogs heartbeat they came to the conclusion that it has a heart problem.
We had to take Frodo (age: 1 year) with us since we couldnt help him on crete. The surgery is too difficult.
Our Vet Jan just wrote me saying:
… Our „Problemdog“ Frodo from Crete, who almost didnt make it through the anesthesia for the castration due to its heartproblem, is in desperate need of a heart surgery.
Thanks fo an Ultrasound in a german clinic we know that the dog has had a heartproblem since brith. Its called "Persistierenden Ductus arteriosus“. This has to go into surgery very soon. The left heart is already overloaded. If the dog wont get surgery soon the vets reckon he got a life expectancy of max 1 year only.
The surgery is very costly since is an open heart surgery, which is very expensive – expected costs are 3000 Euros.
