Apart from the traditional, general education, the Wichi Art School program is searching to enforce the cultural roots of the communities where we operate. In India, we focus on meditation and on the teaching of the traditional Hindu music.

Wichi Art School stands for a long term education plan, based on meditation and on the playing and understanding of music. In January 2009, the first centre was opened in the ancient holy town of Varanasi (Benares). With this solidarity initiative, a first in the area, our intention is to guarantee the health, alimentation and education of the children and to enter into their families through specifically thought through programs. At this moment, 14 children aged between 5 and 12, chosen from the most needy families of the area, are starting their learning process, and are receiving adecuate alimentation and periodical medical check ups. We hope to ensure the developing of this community through teaching these children how to become teachers for the next generation in their turn. This is the Wichi Project, a unique program.
