    About this project

    R. Camil from Tufa Tanz e.V. is responsible for this project
The dance theater "The Little Prince" is based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The story "The Little Prince" is about traveling, new adventures, understanding new things and appreciating old things we had, like ours home. "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye," as the book says. Reveriano Camil would like to express with this dance shows how far we have distanced ourselves in the modern world from the things that are easier and more important and focus more and more on our avarice, vanity, fashions and social media. Today, many people have to leave their lives and homes due to wars. People have to travel to unknown areas - some in search of peace. Some, to learn to appreciate what they have, and some who need the help of others to return.- like the little prince. The idea of turning this book into a dance theater comes from Reveriano Camil, dancer and Choreographer in Trier. Through his experiences with the dance theater "The Last Flower" he was inspired by the incredible expressive potential that slumbers in many children. However, this potential can not be met with the regular weekly dance lessons. We would like to offer these particularly talented children a presentation area to show their artistic abilities. The performances will be premiered in a professional setting and will be presented at the Porta Nigra Trier. The children will be treated as professional artists, as well as in the professional dance theater piece "The Last Flower" in 2017, which became a great success and enchanted many spectators. For "The Little Prince" original music will be composed by Maurizio Spiridigliozzi. Open auditions will take place at the beginning of the project in order to give all children who are interested a fair chance to integrate dance and the arts into their lives through this beautiful project, as a possible hobby and/ or even as a perspective for the future. Nationwide, there are currently few initiatives in which children can act as artists according to their competences in a professional way. In Trier "The Little Prince" and "The Last Flower" are pioneers in the field of professional dance theaters by children.
