Im Jahr 1994 wurde der Grundstein der Jamyang Ling Schule in Zanskar im indischen Himalaya gelegt. Wenige Jahre später ein angegliedertes Hostel gebaut.
Dessen Küche ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen, viel zu klein, kein Wasseranschluß, sehr renovierungsbedürftig.
Im Schnitt wohnen während des Schuljahrs ca. 80 Kinder hier, die verpflegt, beaufsichtigt und betreut werden müssen.
