About this project

Leonie Bohmann from Cap Anamur / Deutsche Not-Ärzte e.V. is responsible for this project
For two years now, the supply situation in Afghanistan has been increasingly deteriorating. Health care in particular is becoming increasingly catastrophic. An exodus of medical professionals and increasing poverty are leading to an undersupply of people. Especially in rural regions, there is a great shortage of medical professionals.

Therefore, Cap Anamur has been offering a training program for Afghan women to become nurses since 2009. The trainees come from rural regions and will return to their home villages after successful training. There they will take over the medical care of the population.

We have managed to ensure that the training program will continue in 2023, despite all the restrictions that apply to women.

With this training project, we can not only improve the situation of women in the country by enabling them to pursue a profession, but we are also improving medical care in rural areas.
