Hello dear readers!
My name is Enna Bönsch, I am 18 years old and I am going to attend a voluntary year in South Africa from September 2018 to September 2019.
A lot of people ask me: Why South Africa? Why that far away? Why a hole year?
The answer is quiet easy: Sparrow Schools Educational Trust.
Teaching children how to fly and not through magic but through education is the aim of Sparrow Schools Educational Trust.
The NPO was established in 1989 and is now firmly embedded in the educational landscape of Johannesburg.
In order to guaranty disadvantaged children the best educational chances there are three different educational facilities: The Combined Technical Skills School, the Sparrow Foundation School and the FET College.
The organisation accompanies children from elementary school up to college. They provide a save working and free time environment for the learners and assist them to thrive in their economy and society.
All fields are adapted to learners who experience various barriers to learning in order to motivate the children to overcome them. Sparrow Schools has remained committed to its mission to provide quality, holistic education to South African learners with cognitive disabilities and to youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Beside the adapted curriculum the students also have the chance to participate in various sporty and cultural activities.
I will support these programs alongside the homework assistance and the free time activities.
Sparrow Schools Educational Trust provides education on a high level for disadvantaged children. A South African proverb goes: "A child without education is like a bird without wings."
With the help of your donation you can get children to fly!
It is not important how small or big the donation is!
Thank you for your support!
